VARC Satellite group

The VARC Satellite group have been making big strides to completing the system up at the cabin. They have been meeting regularly on a Wednesday evening and have installed a rotator with azimuth and elevation functionality. Ambrozy (M7MLU) made the first contact through the system steering the antenna manually.

More recently they have aquired a device called ‘SAT’ that will automatically steer the antenna system and adjust the frequencies as the satellite passes. The aim is to make it possible to work the satellites over the remote radio system that we run at the cabin.

If you would like to get involved in this project, then the club has a WhatsApp group that members can join. Contact our chairman Matt (G7HMV) for more details.
