The club takes every opportunity to take part in field events to give members the experience of setting up and operating in a field without the comfort of a building or the convenience of a mains electricity supply.
On the 21st June 2014 it set up a station at the mid -summer Gala held as part of the Sandridge 900+ celebrations. This was to mark the contributions made by Radio Amateurs at the nearby Woodstock Hill intercept station which operated during the second world war.
